Other than occupying more space, uploading and using a lot of widgets may become a liability rather than a boost for most bloggers who maintain a blog using WordPress. Though you can easily leave them inactive, as far as organization purposes is concerned, it may cause complication as far as what widget plug-ins you may want to use.
There are a lot of them for sure. Tags, search meters, and other needed scripts such as counters and RSS feeds are the normal ones an average blogger would want. There are other enhancements such as affiliate widgets which need to be installed for your blog to be counted. While some are gearing towards optimization, others are looking at design. But between the two, design does not really need a lot of widgets in them. You just have to pick out the ones that are really important.
There will be instances when people get too awed by the introduction of new widgets compatible in WordPress. Out of curiosity, they want to test them out at first. But once they find that these are just adding load to their blog, they deactivate and then delete them in the end.
For widgets preference, it is a matter of categorizing their relevance and importance. If they don’t have any impact on the blog, avoid installing them. Some widgets are plainly programmed for design purposes and may not be ideal for you blog. Think right to know which widgets are indeed suitable to your blog’s needs.
